Retro Video Game Style Music
Fields, Waters and Skies – Retro Game EP March 2025
These Pieces were inspired by classic video games from the 80s and 90s eras. Fully created using synthesizers and embracing the limitations of voices and sounds from older hardware. Flowing Waters is a new remaster. The other two works were written during March 2025.
“Running Skies” takes inspiration from 80s platformers and tracker music style composition using loops and arpeggios.
“Flowing Waters” is directly inspired by David Wise and his music for the Donkey Kong Country Series.
“Roaming Fields” takes inspiration from the Pokémon series and tries to be an adventurous but not too dangerous route/location that one would find in the early woods and fields areas of the game.
Larger Works
“The Forgotten Dead” ~2020
A short PBS Western Reserve documentary I worked on as a student. I created the entire score for the project. This was my first project for media like this and most of it was VST/MIDI mockups of orchestral and band music.
Sound Design
Mini Sound Reels and Fixed Media Electroacoustic
I plan on making more of these short sound design reels with visuals. I essentially view electroacoustic music itself, as music made from sound FX. If you’d like to get a sense of my sound manipulation skills I’d encourage you to listen to something like my piece Vocal Fold as well. It is entirely made out of recordings of my own voice and throat!
